About The SIMS Foundation
SIMS Foundation provides mental health and substance use recovery services for musicians, music industry professionals, and their families to support the well-being of the Austin music community. Live music is the heart and soul of Austin, but living as a musician can be a real challenge. Musicians and music professionals are at higher risk for mental illness and substance abuse, working under the stress of an unstable income, a skyrocketing cost of living, erratic tour schedules, distance from family and support, and constant proximity to drugs and alcohol. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, one in five Texans experiences a mental health condition each year, yet Texas ranks 46th among U.S. states for mental health care accessibility. That’s why SIMS Foundation ensures that members of Austin’s music community have access to a full array of mental health and substance use recovery treatments, delivered with no barriers and at low or no cost. To succeed in our work, we have built a community of health care providers, volunteers, local business leaders, music industry professionals, and Austin music fans to amplify our efforts. Together, we provide vital services so that our Austin music family can thrive.

About The Hell Yes Project
Our guiding philosophy is: Beer Makes It Better. A fresh, hot slice of pizza. A great band on a Saturday night. Hanging out in our beer garden with friends and dogs. Hell Yes, beer makes things better. But it’s bigger than that: We believe our beer has the power to make our community better. The Hell Yes Project is our way of putting this philosophy into action. We team up with non-profit partners that share our passions. Making our city a place where kids don’t go hungry, where it’s safe and fun to bike, where folks have access to healthcare, and where our treasured Barton Springs Pool stays pristine are just some of things we say “Hell Yes!” to making happen. We donate 5% of profits to our Hell Yes Project Partners. To do it, we do fun and cool stuff, we host events and parties, and usually, enjoy a beer or two along the way. We’re always looking for people like you to join us and prove the truth of our philosophy.
