“Surfin’ in a hurricane intensity. Rendered with passion and style.” – Guitar Player

“Guitar instrumentals that are part surf, part greasy R&B, part 1960s punk, part B-movie hot-rod anthems — and all trashy fun.” – Rhapsody

“He’s perfected the mix of Texas blues meets Sixties surf.” – Austin Chronicle

“Rip-roaring rock with a surfy feel” – Pipeline

“King of bizarre guitar.” – Guitar magazine, Tokyo

Teisco’s 1994 album, The Many Moods of Teisco Del Rey, included guest appearances by Charlie Musselwhite, David Grissom, Jimmie Vaughan, members of Laika & the Cosmonauts, and Mel Taylor of the Ventures. His second effort, Plays Music for Lovers, was accented by contributions by slide guitarist Sonny Landreth and Austinites Lisa Pankratz, Erik Hokkanen, Mitch Watkins, Mike Buck, and the late Doyle Bramhall.

He makes a rare Austin appearance at ABGB, Friday, July 8th.
